Moxi®

in Portland, OR

Moxi® at Beam Aesthetics is a laser treatment designed to support healthier, more even-looking skin over time. Using controlled thermal energy, Moxi stimulates collagen and elastin production to address concerns like pigmentation, uneven texture, and early signs of aging. Each treatment is thoughtfully customized by Beam’s expert providers to match your skin type, goals, and healing expectations.

What Is Moxi® Laser Treatment?

Moxi is a laser skin resurfacing treatment suitable for all skin tones. This gentle, non-ablative fractional laser brightens skin, improves texture, and corrects early signs of sun damage, especially common for Portland residents thanks to year-round cloud cover and scattered UV exposure. Moxi is ideal for treating:

  • Uneven tone
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Pigmentation & sun damage
  • Discoloration
  • Melasma
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Rosacea
  • Rough texture
  • Dullness or lack of radiance
  • Early aging concerns

How Moxi® Works

Moxi delivers precise thermal energy into the skin, creating controlled micro-thermal injuries that activate the body’s natural healing response. This process encourages new collagen and elastin production, leading to gradual improvements in tone, texture, and overall skin quality.

Because the surface of the skin remains intact, results develop progressively rather than all at once. Treatments are often performed as a series to build meaningful, long-term improvement. While Moxi is considered a gentle form of resurfacing, it is still a medical-grade laser treatment, and healing responses vary. Allowing appropriate recovery time is an essential part of achieving optimal results.

Why Portland Chooses Moxi at Beam

Experienced, Advanced Providers

All Beam providers are trained directly by Olivia, Oregon’s Clinical Trainer for Sciton lasers, ensuring consistent, safe, expert-level care.

One of Few Clinics in Oregon With BBL® HEROic + Moxi

BBL HEROic works on the deeper layers of the skin to correct redness, brown spots, and underlying pigment, while Moxi refinishes the surface layer for smoother texture and renewed brightness. When paired together, they create a powerful, synergistic treatment. This combination is widely recognized as one of the most effective ways to target sun damage, pigmentation, early aging, and overall skin vitality.

Beam’s founder, Olivia, is one of Oregon’s most credentialed Advanced Aestheticians and a Clinical Trainer for Sciton lasers. With extensive expertise and ongoing education in aesthetic medicine, Olivia leads a team dedicated to providing personalized care tailored to each client’s unique needs. Her expertise ensures your Moxi experience is safe and provides a comfortable treatment, helping your skin beam confidently.

Your Moxi® Experience at Beam

1. Personalized Consultation

Every appointment begins with a detailed skin evaluation tailored to Portland’s climate and lifestyle factors, including UV exposure from cloudy-day glare, humidity changes, and common regional skin sensitivities.

2. Comfortable, Efficient Treatment

Most procedures take 15–20 minutes. We apply a topical numbing cream to minimize discomfort during the procedure, then glide the laser across the skin to create micro-thermal injures that trigger a healing response thus creating new collagen/elastin.

3. What to Expect After Treatment

After Moxi, it’s normal for the skin to feel warm, swollen, and rough in texture. Redness and swelling may last several days, and a sandpaper-like texture can be present for up to a week, depending on treatment intensity and individual healing response.

Tiny darkened areas (known as MENDs) will gradually surface and naturally shed as the skin renews itself. During this time, patients are advised to follow gentle skincare instructions, avoid active ingredients, and protect the skin from sun exposure to support proper healing. Healing timelines vary from person to person, and your provider will review what to expect based on your skin type, goals, and treatment depth.

Reviews

My intro to lasers started at Beam with Olivia. She is so professional and incredibly knowledgeable about skin and all of the treatments she provides. I’ve had treatments from both Olivia and Cynde and recommend them both for their care, expertise, and professionalism. If you’re considering less invasive aesthetic treatments to help rejuvenate your skin please reach out to Beam – you won’t be disappointed.

Moxi is safe for all skin tones and an excellent option for younger patients or those maintaining long-term results. In addition to the face, Moxi can be used to treat the neck, chest, and other areas of the body, making it a versatile choice for overall skin rejuvenation. It’s particularly popular among Portland professionals seeking subtle but high-impact improvement.

Moxi® Treatment Plans

Best for Preventative + Corrective Care

Most patients see optimal results with 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
Quarterly or bi-yearly treatments help maintain skin brightness and clarity, especially through Portland’s rainy winters and sunny summers.

Paired Treatments

For deeper correction, Beam often pairs Moxi with BBL HEROic™, one of the most advanced light-based systems available, and offered by only a few practices in Oregon. Together, they address both surface and deeper pigmentation for more complete rejuvenation.

For patients focused on collagen remodeling or anti-aging benefits, Moxi also complements Microneedling, helping improve firmness, fine lines, and overall skin resilience. Your provider will design a personalized plan that layers treatments safely and strategically to achieve the most natural, healthy-looking outcome.
