Facials in Portland

Healthy skin is never one-size-fits-all. At Beam Aesthetics, our medical-grade facials are personalized to what your skin needs now while supporting its long-term health, clarity, and natural function. Whether you are dealing with dryness, congestion, breakouts, dullness, or simply want your complexion to feel refreshed, our team starts by looking at your skin first. From there, we can recommend the facial, products, and ongoing skincare approach that make the most sense for you. For Portland clients, that can change throughout the year. Indoor heating during the colder months can leave skin feeling dry or reactive, while summer sun exposure and more time outdoors can contribute to dehydration and visible sun damage. Your facial should adapt with your skin—not stay the same just because it is your usual appointment.

Personalized Facials Built Around Your Skin

Your first step at Beam is a personalized consultation and VISIA® Skin Analysis. VISIA gives our team a closer look at hydration, skin texture, sun damage, pore visibility, and other concerns that may not be as easy to see on the surface. That information helps us choose the best treatment for your skin and gives us a more complete picture of where a facial can help—and where another service may deliver better results.

Every facial includes a thoughtful combination of deep cleansing, advanced exfoliation, hydration, and targeted care. The experience is relaxing, but the goal goes beyond a traditional spa facial. We want your skin to feel smoother and more comfortable while supporting healthier-looking skin between appointments.

Why Portland Clients Choose Beam Aesthetics

Beam is built around personalized, evidence-based skin care rather than trends or a one-size-fits-all spa menu.

Founder Olivia Gill brings more than 11 years of aesthetics experience, including four years working in dermatology. She serves as Oregon’s Clinical Trainer for Sciton Lasers and sits on the Oregon Health Licensing Advisory Board for Advanced Aestheticians. Every member of the Beam team is personally trained by Olivia, helping maintain the same high standard of care across your experience. That expertise is especially important when a facial is just one part of a larger skin plan. Beam specializes in understanding how treatments can work together, including advanced care for pigmentation, melasma, acne, redness, texture, and long-term skin health.

Facial Treatments at Beam Aesthetics

Rejuvenating Facial

Our Rejuvenating Facial is a versatile treatment designed for all skin types. Using Revision Skincare, it supports hydration, radiance, and the overall health and appearance of your complexion. The treatment includes a double cleanse, extractions, exfoliation, facial massage, customized mask, LED light therapy, and SPF-infused finishing products.

Acne Facial

Designed for breakout-prone and congested skin, our Acne Facial focuses on clearing pores, calming inflammation, and supporting clearer skin over time. It includes a double cleanse, extended extractions, exfoliation, a topical BHA solution, mask, and SPF-infused finishing products. It can be a good starting point for new clients as well as those already working through an ongoing acne treatment plan.

Dermaplaning Facial

The Dermaplaning Facial removes dead skin cells, peach fuzz, and surface debris to leave skin feeling noticeably smoother and refreshed. It can also help your medical-grade skincare products apply more evenly and absorb more effectively. Your treatment includes a double cleanse, dermaplaning, facial massage, mask, LED light therapy, and SPF-infused finishing products. It is especially popular before an event or whenever dull, rough skin needs a reset.

Back Facial

Congestion, dryness, and breakouts do not always stop at the face. Our Back Facial gives an often-overlooked area the same focused skin care. The treatment includes cleansing, exfoliation, extractions when needed, a customized mask, relaxing massage, and hydration with SPF protection.

Extractions Add-On

For clogged pores or stubborn congestion, focused extractions can be added to any service for $50. The add-on includes a double cleanse, extractions, and post-care with SPF.

Which Facial Is Best for Your Skin?

The best facial depends on what your skin is actually doing. Dry or dehydrated skin may need more hydration and barrier support. Congested or breakout-prone skin may benefit from extended extractions and BHA. Dull or rough skin may respond well to dermaplaning and exfoliation. Sensitive or mature skin may call for a gentler approach.

Our facials can be customized for a wide range of skin types, including sensitive, combination, oily, dry, mature, and acne-prone skin. Just as importantly, our team will tell you when a facial is not the best treatment for your concern. Deeper pigmentation, acne scarring, rosacea, significant sun damage, or more advanced texture concerns may benefit from another treatment or a combination approach.

Reviews

As a first-timer at Beam Aesthetics, I was a bit nervous, but Olivia made me feel completely at ease. She expertly recommended the facial and Moxi treatment, and I’m thrilled with the results—my skin has never felt better! A special thanks to her patient care coordinator Maddy for her warm welcome and making the whole experience smooth and pleasant. They even checked in on me the day after treatment to see how I was feeling and recommended some great skin care. Highly recommend!

What to Expect From Your Facial

Before Your Facial

Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin when possible. Avoid retinol and harsh exfoliants for two to three days before your appointment, and let our team know about any active skin concerns, medications, allergies, or recent treatments.

During Your Facial

Your facial begins with cleansing and an assessment of what your skin needs that day. Depending on the treatment, we may incorporate extractions, exfoliation, dermaplaning, a targeted mask, LED light therapy, and a relaxing massage for the face, neck, shoulders, and décolleté. We finish with medical-grade serums, moisturizer, eye care, and SPF selected to support and protect your skin.

After Your Facial

Your skin should feel smoother, softer, hydrated, and refreshed immediately after treatment, with little to no downtime. We generally recommend avoiding harsh products and active ingredients for 24 to 48 hours. For clients who want to maintain consistent results, a facial every four to six weeks can become part of an ongoing skincare routine rather than an occasional reset.

Treatments That Pair Well With Facials

A facial can support healthy skin on its own or become part of a more comprehensive treatment plan. Dermaplaning can enhance exfoliation and smooth texture, while SkinPen® microneedling works deeper to stimulate collagen and improve concerns such as fine lines and acne scarring. Chemical peels provide another level of exfoliation when uneven tone or texture needs more correction. For pigmentation, redness, rosacea, or visible sun damage, our team may recommend BroadBand Light (BBL®) rather than relying on a facial to address concerns it cannot fully correct. MOXI® laser resurfacing is another option when skin tone and texture need a more advanced treatment. Medical-grade skincare at home helps protect your results between appointments, and our team can recommend products that fit your skin rather than sending you home with a complicated routine you do not need.

Facial FAQs

How often should I get a facial?
For ongoing skin maintenance, Beam generally recommends a facial every four to six weeks. Your ideal schedule may vary depending on your skin type, current concerns, home skincare routine, and whether facials are being combined with other treatments.

Yes. Beam’s facials can be customized for sensitive, dry, oily, combination, mature, and acne-prone skin. Our team adjusts the products, exfoliation, and techniques used based on how your skin is behaving at the time of your appointment.

Beam’s Acne Facial is designed specifically for congestion and breakouts. It includes extended extractions, exfoliation, a topical BHA solution, a targeted mask, and finishing skincare. For acne scarring or lingering pigmentation, our team may recommend additional treatments beyond a facial.

Most Beam facials require little to no downtime. Your skin may feel especially smooth, hydrated, and refreshed immediately afterward. We generally recommend avoiding retinol, strong exfoliants, and other active skincare ingredients for 24 to 48 hours following treatment.

A traditional facial focuses on cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, extractions, and overall skin health. Dermaplaning uses a specialized technique to remove dead surface cells and fine facial hair. Beam also offers a Dermaplaning Facial that combines dermaplaning with medical-grade skincare, massage, a mask, and LED light therapy.

Yes, but timing matters. A Dermaplaning Facial can be a great option before an event because it removes dead skin cells and peach fuzz while leaving the skin looking smoother and refreshed. Our team can help you choose the right treatment and timing based on your skin.

A facial can improve hydration, surface texture, and overall brightness, but it cannot correct every type of pigmentation or sun damage. If those are your primary concerns, Beam may recommend treatments such as BBL® or MOXI® as part of a more targeted treatment plan.

You do not need to figure that out on your own. Beam uses a consultation and VISIA® Skin Analysis to better understand your skin, concerns, and goals before recommending the facial or treatment that makes the most sense for you.
